Supervision for individuals and groups

My core psychotherapy training was psychoanalytic, and these are my principles when supervising, however my practice has developed over the years incorporating the pluralistic range of counselling models and concepts including from integrative, DIT and CBT.  I supervise both open-ended and short-term focused work.

My supervision training was psychodynamic and I view the role of Supervisor as both supportive and challenging, aimed at developing the practitioner/s capacity in clinical work.  My substantial years in the NHS and Higher Education working with adults and younger people mean that I have experience across the full range of mental health conditions as well as understanding the type of organisational pressures that can arise when leaders are managing groups and individuals at pace.

Aims

I view the role of Clinical Supervisor as supporting those working with clients (either in a university setting or corporate institutions) to offer a professional, high-quality service where the context and stage of development of the client is taken into consideration so that psychotherapists/counsellors can feel more effective and find their work more rewarding and sustainable.

For Leaders and Managers, it allows another perspective on fast paced, complex dynamics that can get played out with an opportunity to think about the meaning in more depth.

Delivery

I can provide small supervision groups with 3 to 4 counsellors, psychotherapists, or counselling psychologists monthly.  Groups can be delivered at your organisation or university with your colleagues or online and last one hour and 20 minutes. Individual supervision is usually fortnightly in North London or online via zoom, lasting 50 minutes.
